APT – Augmented Psychotherapy Training

Becoming a
Psychedelic Therapist
or Co-Therapist

APT – Augmented Psychotherapy Training

Do you want to train as a psychedelic therapist or co-therapist? This three-year training provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to practice in a legal, safe, and evidence-based framework.

The APT – Augmented Psychotherapy Training is an advanced training course for medical doctors, psychotherapists, and complementary mental health professionals. Renowned therapists and researchers from European and international institutions have joined up with the MIND/OVID team to create this high-quality curriculum.
The training provides you with knowledge and skills you can apply in your therapeutic work immediately. Even before the future approval of psilocybin, MDMA, and other psychedelics as medication for augmented psychotherapy.

The APT curriculum builds on a cross-school approach. It is grounded in six layers of theoretical foundation:

(1) GENERAL PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC MODES OF ACTION
(2) THEORIES & METHODS OF PSYCHEDELIC-AUGMENTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
(3) RELEVANT ASPECTS OF SPECIFIC MENTAL DISORDERS FOR PSYCHEDELIC-AUGMENTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
(4) EXISTENTIAL DIMENSIONS OF PSYCHEDELIC EXPERIENCES (PHILOSOPHY AND SPIRITUALITIES)
(5) THERAPIST PERSONALITY, SELF-DEVELOPMENT, AND ETHICS
(6) WORKING IN THERAPEUTIC TEAMS AND NETWORKS

The program includes a profound self-experience component. Non-pharmacological and pharmacological methods like breathwork and medically supervised ketamine sessions are provided. Furthermore, we work towards permission to offer legal psilocybin experiences in the framework of a training study.
Part of the APT approach is continuous mentoring by experienced clinicians and interactive learning through the involvement of patient actors and role play in the context of case work. We equip participants with the required scientific knowledge and insights into relevant current clinical and scientific developments. Some of the leading experts in psychedelic research and therapy are involved in providing this training program (in the advisory board, as external speakers, and as mentors).

With the APT program, you become a registered member of a large developing peer network, facilitating patient referral, organizing supervision, peer-to-peer intervision, practice in therapeutic teams, and further education. This network will play a part in the creation of international standards for psychedelic-augmented therapies. Over the years, we expect a growing number of organizations and authorities to support and further co-develop the APT program’s high standards.
Becoming APT certified is an excellent opportunity to be part of a global transformation in the way we look at mental health care, healing, and human flourishing.

After the first year, participants will obtain a Certificate in Psychedelic Integration Therapy/Psychedelic Integration Coaching. After completing the full training, participants will receive a Certificate in Augmented Psychotherapy. You will be certified to practice ketamine-assisted, breathwork-assisted, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy on a state-of-the-art level. Depending on your prior qualification, you will be qualified to either work in a therapeutic team or individually.
CME/CE accreditation is pending. We expect to be awarded 50+ CME/CE credits per year, awarded by the physicians’ chamber of Berlin, Germany.

Admission Deadline: March 30th, 2021!

The intensive on-site training weeks will happen in Berlin, Germany.
