Psychoactive Substances – Basic Knowledge
The Drug Science Program offers a unique interdisciplinary and evidence-based approach to knowledge about psychoactive substances.
Module I teaches a broad knowledge base. You will learn how to address and understand the scientific terminology used to understand psychoactive substances and altered states of consciousness. You will gain an understanding of history, effects, potentials and harms, the different cultural and scientific traditions that formed around them, as well as models of drug regulation. We will cover main substance classes, and a basic understanding of neurobiology, neurochemistry and neuroanatomy.
Module I is mandatory for visiting further Drug Science Modules. If you wish to visit any other Module before visiting Module I you can do so by booking in double pack.
