To make our events, workshops, and training more accessible, we created the MIND Academy Diversity Program.
The Diversity Program provides a chance to participate for people with a sincere interest in our work who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. Applicants who are accepted into the Diversity Program will be granted access to certain MIND Academy events, workshops, and training at a substantially reduced price or no cost at all.
Each MIND Academy event, workshop, and training has several spots for those accepted into this program. Please find the Diversity Program application: https://mind-foundation.org/diversity-program/
On there, you can find a lot of recommendations for scientific articles, books, blog posts, videos, and more.
MIND Academy & Events
We currently have two ways for people to access past recordings they may have missed out on. You can purchase , which includes a collection of webinars and discussions that you can watch as often as you’d like. Alternatively you can become a member, after which you will have access to Zooming In webinars for free, including access to the most recent recordings. Apart from the Zooming In series, members also receive large discounts on other webinars.
Additionally, some webinars and videos are available for free on our website.
For events taking place at the MIND Foundation (Boxhagenerstr. 82A, Berlin), there are several nearby hotels. The Almodovar Hotel is right next to us, and the Gold Hotel and A&O Hostel are also very close by. If those are booked up, here is a list of other hotels and here are some hostels near Berlin-Friedrichshain.
To reach MIND from the Berlin Brandenburg airport, just take the FEX (Flughafen Express/Airport express) bus directly from the airport terminal to Berlin Ostkreuz station. From there, our office is a 10-minute walk away.
If you need more detailed information on your journey, Google Maps generally has reliable public transport information for Berlin, and Berlin also has a reliable public transport app.
The INSIGHT is planned as a hybrid on-site and livestreamed event. Even in the case of a lockdown we will likely be able to have the on-site event with a reduced number of visitors (about 180 in this case). During the registration process for INSIGHT 2021 tickets you will be asked to agree to the following:
- In the case that the on-site conference/event has to be reduced to a smaller number of attendees or completely cancelled due to the political regulations and the event must be completely switched to a digital format, I agree that, I will be presented with the choice to either:
1. turn my on-site ticket into an online ticket and additionally receive an online voucher* of 300 Euro (if you bought a standard on-site ticket) or 100 Euro (if you bought a reduced on-site ticket)
2. turn my on-site ticket into an online ticket and get the price difference reimbursed (on-site ticket price minus online ticket price at the time of purchase). - If I as attendee cannot come to the conference/event because of travel restrictions in my home country, my on-site ticket will be turned into an online ticket. Furthermore, upon request, I can get the price difference (on-site ticket price minus online ticket price at the time of purchase) reimbursed in the form of an online voucher*.
*Online vouchers can be redeemed for online events and products of the MIND Foundation. You can find an overview of all online events in our calendar and all online products and courses on our online learning platform.
Psychedelic-assisted Therapy
The MIND Foundation supports safe and legal application of psychedelic substances in therapy and does not refer people to underground practitioners. However, psychotherapy using psychedelic substances such as psilocybin and LSD is currently being researched at many universities worldwide. The ZI Mannheim and the Charité Berlin are also conducting a study (EPIsoDE), which has already been approved and for which the MIND Foundation is a collaborating partner.
If you do not meet the patient criteria for the EPIsoDE study, we can refer you to the OVID Clinic in Berlin-Friedrichshain, where Augmented Psychotherapy is practiced using ketamine and other methods – in a safe and legal context.
For more information, please visit: https://augmentierte-psychotherapie.de/overview/
If you cannot come to Berlin or Mannheim and are interested in participating in a clinical trial, we suggest having a look at the worldwide database for registered clinical trials, found at clinicaltrials.gov. You can search the database based on condition or disease, keywords (e.g. psilocybin), location, and whether the trial is still recruiting. Many countries also have a similar national database.
The OVID clinic takes clients (both on-site and online) for integration therapy. You can find more information at Ketamintherapie und Integrations-Psychotherapie in Berlin (ovid-clinics.com)
Additionally, the MIND Foundation offers both in-person and online integration workshops: BEYOND EXPERIENCE and Footsteps online.
Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. med. Gerhard Gründer is head of the Department of Molecular Neuroimaging of the Central Institute of Mental Health Mannheim (University of Heidelberg). As part of this study, a group at the Campus Benjamin Franklin Charité Universitätsmedizin plans to treat about 15 patients with psilocybin in treatment-resistant depression.
The MIND Foundation team is a cooperation partner. We do not receive any funds from the study. On the contrary, we support the study logistically by organizing the training of therapists and finance two doctoral students and a senior researcher at MIND.
Please note that the study is only open to German-speaking patients.
If you have a patient or someone else that you know is interested in participating in this study as a patient and is diagnosed with treatment-resistant depression, please contact the appropriate study center below. The study will be conducted and managed at the Central Institute of Mental Health Mannheim (University of Heidelberg), with the second study center at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

SCIENTIFIC TRAINING
In general, we do not have the capacity to supervise Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis projects at MIND. Our ability to support doctoral students is limited to two research fellowships per year.
If you are looking to get involved with psychedelic research, we strongly suggest directly contacting faculty with whom you might like to work, as well as applying to degree programs with which they are affiliated. Some professors will respond to a well-written introductory e-mail, and with a little luck you may find someone who has an open position.
Glad to hear it – please see the augmented psychotherapy FAQs here.
We are always looking for interns. An internship is the ideal way to get to know the organization, contribute to interesting projects, and gain insight and inspiration for your further academic and personal development. MIND internships may also count toward some degree programs, although please verify this with your university first.
To apply, please fill out this application form: https://mind-foundation.org/get-involved/internships/
We do not have clinical internship positions open before March 2022. Please consider returning to us with your request for clinical internships at the beginning of 2022. At present, the MIND Foundation is involved in one large, two-center clinical trial at the Central Institute of Mental Health Mannheim and Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It is not possible to intern in this trial.
All clinical trials and internship opportunities in clinical trials will be located within our partner organization OVID Health Systems in the future. However, basic research and all other research activities are still located within the MIND Foundation. OVID Health Systems and our academic partners are currently working on applications for further clinical research projects in the psychedelic field. We look forward to your application in other fields of research and knowledge exchange or education at the MIND Foundation.
Intern projects are tailored both to what we need and to each intern’s skills and preferences. This means that each internship is unique. Projects usually happen in three departments: the MIND Academy, Research & Knowledge Exchange, and/or Communications. We are also very open to having interns help with our websites, and to other suggestions that we discuss with applicants during the application process. Please note that interns are not involved in clinical research projects, e.g. the psilocybin depression study.
