A transdisciplinary exploration of synergies and crossroads in psychedelic research and therapy
On-Site and Online (Zoom webinar) * Saturday, April 9th, 2022
for an academic event about the future of psychedelic research and therapy
The uniMIND x Maastricht University Symposium is the second uniMIND Symposium. We welcome all academics, researchers, students, and professionals from within and outside of uniMIND to attend and contribute.
After decades of stasis, the psychedelic research field has gained fresh wind, and the psychedelic renaissance is now in full swing. Clinical research is beginning in numerous Western countries, decriminalization movements meet their first successes, and the market is booming. On the verge of medical-societal implementation, the psychedelic field is at a crossroads: it seems that now, more than ever, stakeholders need to take a critical perspective to prevent the misadventures of times past.
Conversely, synergy is achieved when the combined collaborative power of a group creates a whole greater than the sum of its parts. In this case, synergy could result from the integration of traditional and other perspectives in the modern treatment paradigm, or a transdisciplinary research approach that yields better methods to tackle complex challenges. It could mean the emergence of a mindful, sustainable approach to financial investments, or the introduction of mindfulness practices into educational institutions.
The uniMIND x UM Symposium invites you to a critical discussion of relevant issues in pursuit of safe and effective medical implementation and a risk-competent enculturation of psychedelics.

These in turn, will produce experts that subsequently represent their groups in a discussion panel.
