Prof. Dr. Stefan Römer is an artist and art theorist. He teaches art and art theory internationally at diverse institutes. He studied art history and gained his dissertation in this field. Furthermore he studied ethnology, philosophy and comparative religious studies. Since 1990 he participates at international exhibitions and in publications. His book “Strategien des Fake – Kritik von Original und Fälschung (DuMont, Köln 2001)” was an art theory bestseller. With his de-conceptual practice he reconstructs the epistemology of the arts through critical reading that he calls “Inter-esse”. He focuses on the topics: ambient, originality and post-panoptic visuality and sound.
