Carolina Modlin

Visual Artist and Complementary Psychotherapist

Carolina Modlin is a visual artist and a psychological therapist working on studies exploring the safety and efficacy of psilocybin in the treatment of depression and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King’s College London.

Carolina makes use of traditional psychotherapeutic techniques as well as art, visualization, and psychosomatic interventions in her practice. Her clinical work is focused on understanding and making use of the connection between visionary experience and psychospiritual development. Appreciating the transformative potential of psychological crisis, her work explores trauma recovery through the use of creativity and imagination, as a vehicle to consolidate the experience of altered states of consciousness.

Carolina also works as an art director for RAIN, a non-profit organization that uses art as a catalyst for regeneration and reforestation projects in the Amazon and Atlantic forest. She is also a Women’s Group facilitator and an accredited Kundalini Yoga teacher, where the study of conscious breathing led her to develop the Projective Breath Awareness method, an artistic technique based on the notion that creative processes are intrinsically mind-altering and that combined with mindful breathing and introspection may serve as effective support for the integration of psychedelic experiences.

Carolina Modlin is a speaker in APT – Augmented Psychotherapy Training.
