University: University Freiburg im Breisgrau

Field: Anthropology

Academic title: Master

Internship duration: June – September 2019 (3 months)

Motivation Statement:
I had already been interested in psychedelics for some years when I joined the MIND Foundation at the end of my studies. At the time, I was looking for a platform of like-minded people with whom I could explore the field of psychedelics from a more academic perspective.

Main tasks:
During my internship, we focused on the organization of the INSIGHT 2019 conference in Berlin for which I did a number of different tasks from promotion to design and logistics.

Benefits:
My time at MIND and the INSIGHT conference were a great chance to network in the relatively small world of psychedelic research. In such a multidisciplinary environment, I made the contacts and gained the inspiration that made my bachelor thesis possible. Furthermore, I put into practice the various soft-skills that are neccesary to organize such a big event, from the communication and teamwork to professional design and office software. Working at MIND office felt like being part of a small family. Not only will you engage in interesting conversations about the current state of psychedelic science, you will find a bunch of caring human beings passionately working for what they believe in.
