Lucca Jaeckel is co-coordinator and co-editor of the MIND blog. His research interests lie at the intersection of neuroscience and psychiatry with neurophenomenology and science and technology studies. Therein, Lucca is interested in the co-production of science and social order related to mental health conditions and their remedies, as well as altered states of consciousness.
When Lucca started working with MIND in 2018, he was working towards a B.Sc. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with the major Life Sciences from University College Freiburg, Germany, and a B.Sc. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with the interdisciplinary concentration Sciences and Social Sciences from University College Maastricht, Netherlands.
For this, Lucca wrote his first Bachelor’s thesis on MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD in Maastricht. And he wrote his second bachelor’s thesis on the neurophenomenology and ethics of deep brain stimulation for depression at the Division for Interventional Biological Psychiatry at the University Hospital Freiburg.
Currently Lucca is working towards an M.Sc. in Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience at Freie Universität Berlin. And, he is working as a research assistant at the Visual Perception Lab at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
