Data collection in this survey was completed in March 2021.
The purpose of this online survey was to improve our understanding of the acute and longer-term effects of psychedelics. These effects can be positive in some cases, but rather negative in others, depending on a multitude of factors. With their participation, nearly 2,000 people helped us to better understand the diversity of psychedelic experiences and their effects on the human mind. We sincerely thank all participants.
The results of this study were published in 2022:
Are you at least 23 years old, and have you taken LSD, psilocybin (e.g. “magic mushrooms”), mescaline (e.g. peyote cactus), or ayahuasca in the past 5 years?
Then take part in our new anonymous online survey!
Like our previous Psychedelic Experience Survey which was conducted between October 2020 and March 2021, this new research project aims to improve our understanding of the acute and longer-term effects of psychedelics. This time, we are focusing on the interplay between psychedelic experiences and stressful life events. Even if you have not experienced any particularly stressful events in the past, we very much welcome your participation.
As a participant in this survey, you will be asked to answer some questions referring to one specific psychedelic experience that you have had in the past 5 years. If you have had multiple psychedelic experiences during this time period, we will ask you to select that experience which you feel has had the greatest impact on you and your life.
The survey will take approximately 25 minutes to complete.
Your participation is completely anonymous. The secure survey server is hosted at Dresden University of Technology. To access the survey, please click on the link below.

Dear Breathworker,
Thank you for your interest in the MIND Foundation’s third breathwork study!
The study is meant to deepen our scientific understanding of how breathwork brings about personal change –biologically and psychologically. Answering these questions will give us the first real scientific look at how basic biological processes like cortisol interact with harder-to-grasp factors like music, intention and setting to create the experiences evoked by breathwork.
It will take place on 11.11.2022 in the style of Connective Breathwork OR on 12.11.2022 in the style of Holotropic Breathwork.
Participants must be between 18 and 60 years old, fluent in English (Level C1) and have a minimum experience of 5 immersive Breathwork sessions.
