Lawrence Fischman, MD, is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, who taught psychiatry in the Tufts University School of Medicine-Maine Medical Center program and conducted a private practice in New York and Maine for many years. He now teaches a course in psychoanalytic perspectives on psychedelic therapy at Fluence, and serves on the Maine Track admissions subcommittee at Tufts. In 1983, he published a paper comparing psychedelic drug states with dreams and psychosis in Schizophrenia Bulletin. He retired from practice in 2021 in order to pursue his interest in writing papers integrating psychedelic research with psychoanalytic theory. Lawrence Fischman is an external lecturer of APT.
